With the coming of summer, Sangam e.V. is continuing to host its traditional Indian classical music and dance event Raga Tradition for the second time. This time Raga Tradition II is an eclectic mixture of the classical music and dance from the Indian sub-continent.


On 3rd of July, Sangam e.V. invites you all to the classical Indian music and dance concert "Raga-Tradition II" at 19:00 Hrs in Johann Sebastian Bach Music School. With this we like to express the motto of our organization "A Cultural Confluence" together with German, South Asian students and professionals.


Kushal Das, a north Indian solo Sitar & Surbahar artist was born to a highly enriched musical family of Kolkata, India. His grandfather late Sri Bimal Das was a renowned Esraj player while his father Sri Sailen Das is a sitarist of high repute. Kushal started his training at age of five and had the proud privilege of having learnt from great musicians - Pandit Manas Chakraborty, Sanjoy Banerjee, Ramkrishna Basu and late Ajoy Sinha Roy. The critic's connoisseurs have acknowledged him as a worthy successor of his idol, the late maestro Pandit Nikhil Banerjee. His concerts are always marked for their aesthetic appeal and insight with a fine command of technical expertise. With maturity as his forte Kushal thus has the predominant virtue of Indian heritage & music. Kushal has participated in most of the major concerts all over the country. His tours abroad since 1987, covered U.S.A, Canada, several European countries and Bangladesh and have been marked with great success and appreciation.


Poonam Panchwagh, a promising young Kathak dancer hails from the rich and dignified tradition evolved by Dr. Guru Pandita Rohini Bhate.She has been receiving training from Guru Rohini Bhate’s senior disciple-Smt. Rujuta Soman. She has performed in prestigious events like Sangeet Natak Academi Choreography Festival, Nrityabharati Golden Jubilee Celebration, Pune Navratri Mohatsav, Shani Maruti Sangeet Mahotsav and Bharat Asmita Awards. Poonam is extremely eloquent with the with her performances of Classical Kathak.
